4-5 October 2018

After 5 years of absence, the FEA Global Aerosol Event is back on scene!

This 2018 edition took place at the Congress Centre in Dusseldorf.

Apart from the exhibition area which brought together steel and aluminium producers, aerosols suppliers and fillers, interesting conferences featuring top-notch speakers were being held along the 2 days of the fair. Topics discussed included key packaging trends in the global metal aerosol cans market, the state of global aerosol innovation or the latest technologies for cans inspection, among others.

A strong focus was also made on the current legislative framework of the aerosol industry and the legislative trends on sustainability with the new recycling targets, leading to the positive conclusion that there were still more opportunities than threats!

We took the stage to talk about steel and recycling

In addition to unveiling our new steel for aerosol prototype, Stéphane Tondo - ArcelorMittal CMO Packaging and APEAL President - took part in the Round table on Recycling on Thursday 4, addressing steel waste stream and how easy closing the loop with steel is.

Next to that on Friday morning, Gilles Mangin - ArcelorMittal Packaging Development - made a 10 minutes speech highlighting ArcelorMittal's ongoing efforts to further reduce the weight of our steel, making it thinner and stronger and ensuring lighter aerosol cans.

An appeal to delegates to find cleaner solutions

On the first day, Bertrand Piccard - Chairman of Solar Impulse Foundation – gave an inspiring speech on "How to achieve the Impossible".

Envisioning ecology through the lens of profitability, promoting clean and profitable solutions that are “logical” more than just “eco-logical”, Bertrand demonstrates the opportunities that lie in solving climate change. And he encouraged all the aerosol’s stakeholders to adopt more ambitious environmental targets and energy policies.

Next edition, 23-24 September 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal
