Read Stéphane Tondo’s exclusive interview in La Revue des Marques in which he shares his vision of steel as a premium material and the most appropriate solution at many levels, for both the Brands and the consumers.
Organized jointly by ArcelorMittal Europe’s Packaging and Global R&D divisions, the Steel2Pack challenge is geared towards students with engineering or design backgrounds. The aim is to have them think outside the box and imagine the future packaging for food, using 100% steel or largely relying on it.
Based on the brief and sources of inspiration available on the Steel2Pack challenge website, the challengers had until Wednesday April 3rd to finalise and submit their ideas.
We are glad to have received so many applications and we are now reviewing and sorting them based on criteria as creativity, technicality, sustainability aspect and execution of ideas. It is now up to the jury to shortlist 30 projects.
Once the selected applicants will receive the go-ahead, they will enter the second stage of the challenge, the “expanded phase”, consisting of one extra month to elaborate on their idea with the help of our colleagues from Global R&D and Packaging in order to reach the finals in June.
Can not wait to see what will come out of it and how the food packaging of tomorrow will look like!
Stay tuned for the results in June!
